Al Dixon, Inc. brings together NFL alumni, pro athletes and professionals to raise money for charities, causes and the people who need it — through The Free Drink Card®, youth mentorship, and celebrity events.
The Fundraising Engine
A revolutionary fundraising tool that partners charities, causes and non-profit organizations with local restaurants — restaurants build loyal guests and goodwill, supporters save money all year, and your organization earns ongoing income.
The cardholder — plus up to 5 guests per visit — gets unlimited free non-alcoholic beverages with the purchase of an entrée at participating restaurants nationwide.
Each card is good for one full year of unlimited use and renews annually — a lifetime of savings while dining out, with the average supporter saving over $300 a year.
The only fundraising tool that creates permanent, compounding annual residual income. Sell the card once — our system automatically emails renewal notices every year.
Sell the card one time and the state-of-the-art training system generates and emails renewal notices on each card's expiration date. It's a no-brainer for supporters to renew — another year of savings for them, another year of support for the great work you do.
Signing restaurants up takes very little effort. The card fills their tables with new and repeat customers for just pennies per person — the wholesale cost of a fountain drink, tea or coffee — at no cost to them. Most are moving free drinks within 24–48 hours of a signed agreement.
The Coordinator
Family, academic achievement, sports success and pride in playing well because of hard work and determination — these have been forces in Al Dixon's life since his childhood in East St. Louis, Illinois, where he saw first-hand the damage drugs, alcohol and the lack of discipline can do to young people who are not encouraged and supported.
Al credits his parents' love and respect for others for his drive to succeed — first as high school Scholar Athlete of the Year, then earning a scholarship to Iowa State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Psychology.
At Iowa State he became one of only eight Big Eight players ever to letter in three sports: football, basketball and baseball. He turned down an offer from the Boston Red Sox to sign with the New York Giants. His NFL career as a tight end — with the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles — ended with the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl Championship of 1985.
The Roster
Al Dixon has brought together sports stars and professionals — including lawyers, doctors, models, media representatives and craftsmen — to share their experiences with young people, especially troubled youth. Many came from deprived backgrounds and had the determination to overcome adversity, and they represent real alternatives for having dreams and goals.
School-Based Youth Program
Athletes who are making a difference. Young people have always looked up to sports stars as heroes and role models — these athletes use that influence to help youth develop the right life skills to succeed in the game of life.
Young people get the chance to hear, listen to and interact with these professionals in a classroom setting — learning directly from people who overcame adversity and poverty through hard work and determination.
Many of these professionals came from deprived backgrounds but had the determination to overcome adversity and poverty. They describe what hard work has meant to them and the doors it opened — representing to young people the alternatives for building dreams and goals, developing good decision-making skills, and choosing to avoid destructive behavior.
Capitalize On The Celebrities
Celebrities give an event real star power. You've got a great cause and a great course — now add the third of the 3 C's: Celebrities. Most people will jump at the chance to play golf with a football or baseball hero.
Celebrities add the draw that attracts attendees to an event. Golf tournaments are great places to meet them in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Celebrities feel safe and at ease at golf events — access is controlled and everyone is there for the common purpose of helping a great cause and having some fun.
You don't need a celebrity for every foursome — just a few to meet, take photos and share stories with. Give the honor of playing alongside them to your top sponsors.
